ROCKS CRY OUT

Luke 19:36 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” NIV

Isn’t it interesting that though the religious leaders didn’t recognize who Jesus was, the rocks did?

John 1:3-4 God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through Him. The Word gave life to everything that was created… NLT

· The water supported Him when He walked upon it – Matthew 14:25

· The storm obeyed His command – Mark 4:39

· The trees blossomed or withered at His word – Matthew 21:19

· The rocks were ready to break out in praise if He had not quieted them - Luke 19:40

· And though all nature did in fact receive Him….

ONLY HUMANITY FAILED TO DO SO!

John 1:11 He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.

The first word translated as “own” refers to creation, and the second refers to people. It literally reads: He came to His own “creation” and His own “people” received Him not.

Which group are you in today? The crowd that recognizes Him and worships or the crowd in which the rocks await their que?

Don’t let a rock take your place of praise …join all nature and say, “BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!’
