Matthew 2:1-2 ….About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” NLT

The wise men, though they were most likely from a pagan culture, were tuned into what God was doing and saying, and were able to follow His directions right to the place where Jesus was.

To know God’s direction, you must be to able to hear His voice!

In years gone by, television sets all had two rabbit ear style antennae. We kids would move them around until Dad found just the right place to pick up the channel frequency. Otherwise all we heard and saw was static. What are the antennae’s of your heart tuned to?

If our God was willing to reveal himself to ancient astronomers who were pagan in theology and lifestyle, how much more does He want to communicate with you and guide your life this year?

Jesus Christ was sent by God to die on the cross and rip through the barrier of sin that stood between God and us. This made it impossible for us to have communication and relationship with our Father in heaven. We now no longer need a human priest or go-between to communicate with God!

Hebrews 4:14, 16 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe…. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. NKJ

Turn your antennae’s away from the static of the world’s many voices and distractions and tune into the voice of God. He is speaking! Are you listening like the wise men?
