Genesis 22:14 Abraham named the place Jehovah-Jireh, which means, “The Lord will provide”.
Abraham knew God would provide, but he didn’t know how or when. Yet sure enough, at the very last moment, before his son, Isaac, had a dagger thrust through his young heart, God showed up with provision.
Just enough in just in time, God provided.
• The Hebrews were trapped without a place to run or hide between the Egyptian army
and the Red Sea.
• The little widow lady had nothing left to feed her son or herself; she was down to her
last jar of olive oil.
• The storm was so ferocious the boat was being buffeted by the waves like a toy, ready
to sink at any moment.
Throughout the Bible we read of people who were at a point of desperation and had God miraculously step in at the last moment.
The Hebrews escaped through the dry sea bed as God stacked up the water on either side – Exodus 14:15-31 The Widow of Zarephath and her son ate in abundance during the famine as God provided food through the prophet Elijah – 1 Kings 17:8-24. The storm was brought to quiet submission at the voice of Jesus – Luke 8:22-25.
Just enough in just enough time, God provided.
Have you ever been down to your last scrap, without a way of escape or ready to capsize? It may feel like God has forgotten you, but instead He is setting the stage for miraculous provision.
